In crew cab models, it gets 3-inches more rear legroom. It gets an all-new suspension as well for improved handling. There is a 2.7-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder joining the line-up, along with the V8 engines. While the 4.3-litre V8 work truck is available with a 6-speed automatic transmission, the 2.7-litre and 5.3-litre get a 8-speed automatic transmission.
The 6.2-litre gets the 10-speed auto. The Middle East exclusive regular cab Silverado Trailboss and Silverado RST comes with the 5.3-litre engine, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission (regular cab models get the 8-speed auto). A Z71 package is available which includes stronger shocks, front tow hooks and extra under-body protection. The interior gets a 4.2-inch display on the dashboard. The Silverado pickups has 12-volt outlets, five USB ports and a SD-card slot. For improving fuel economy, all V8 engines have cylinder deactivation and direct injection.
